Jaye began her yogic journey in 2005. She practiced various styles of yoga to relieve her mind of daily stresses and incorporated it into her daily exercise regime. A few years later, she discovered Ashtanga Yoga and fell in love with the flow and intensity. Through the practice of yoga, Jaye began to find peace and balance between the mind and body. Her desire to explore other aspects of the yogic world such as the philosophy, Sanskrit, mantras, meditation, Ayurveda and so on, along with the support from her wonderful yoga teachers have led Jaye to pursue her Yoga Teacher Training at Downward Dog Yoga Centre, Toronto. She then went on to study Thai Massage at Lotus Palm Institute of Thai Massage and Traditional Bodywork.
Jaye is passionate about sharing her practice with anyone who is searching for internal peace and joy. She believes that anyone can practice yoga. Her classes emphasize on mindfulness; challenging the mind to stay focused through precise breathing and maintaining proper alignment while cultivating physical and mental strength. She teaches various styles of yoga including Vinyasa/Flow, Hatha, Core, Prenatal and Ashtanga.
“To me, being a yoga teacher is about being able to apply what I have learnt through my journey, physically and spiritually, to give, empower and unite with others. I want to guide my students on how to love and honour their bodies, connect the mind and the body, to improve their physical, mental and spiritual well-being so they can have the tools to find inner peace.”
